Maximum protection with our polyethylene molds
Maximum protection and satisfaction when making our molds. At Otayco, we know how important it is to transport products safely, and we make each package as if it were our own.
The primary function of this foam is to absorb shocks or vibrations that our material may experience in the box itself. However, some variants may offer additional features such as moisture or thermal insulation.
As for the advantages of this material, we can highlight its high absorption capacity, which can provide effective protection against collisions and damage to our parts.
Additionally, there are other types of fillers such as bubble wrap, foam filler, air bags, expandable foam, and so on. These types of fillers are not recommended for industrial or flight applications as their level of protection is very poor. Without a doubt, the most recommended material is foamed polyethylene, whose individual properties ensure more reliable impact resistance, leave no residue, and guarantee safe transport.
After all, we want our cargo to arrive at its destination protected and intact. That's why it's important to take care of the inside of our box and not settle for just any material. It had to be a material that guaranteed maximum cushioning, protected our instruments, and was easy to use.
Polyethylene foam is the most suitable material for filling packaging, as it prevents the items inside from moving.
Main properties
MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR
- Strong resistance to impact and bending.
- Good sliding properties.
THERMAL PERFORMANCE
- It can withstand temperatures of up to 80 degrees without major mechanical demands.
- Very low thermal conductivity.
WATERPROOF - Repels water. Does not swell.
SLIDE PROPERTIES
- It has self-lubricating properties, especially in the case of dry sliding friction with metals such as: Steel, Brass, Copper.
In conclusion, polyethylene has a wide range of applications and uses, which, in addition to its affordable price, makes it one of the most sought-after and widely used polymers in most economic and industrial sectors. It's a material we encounter every day.
Polyethylene machining for general engineering.
WE MANUFACTURE UNIQUE SIZE PIECES ACCORDING TO A PLAN OR SAMPLE
One of our company's activities is based on the machining of plastic parts for engineering, and we are growing professionally every day.
We have machine shops that prepare parts for production, where we have CNC lathes and milling machines, we can provide laser or waterjet cutting, and we offer state-of-the-art polishing to ensure a flawless finish. We work from single pieces to medium or large series, and we can make any type of part or drawing according to sample specifications or the needs of each client.
We have our own technical office with a team of expert engineers who design and draw according to the details of each order.
We perform tasks by introducing a completely new process into the circuit, conducting feasibility studies to understand its location, functions, and pressure, temperature, and application requirements that the technical polyethylene plastic components must meet. Ultimately, all consulting work is carried out in parallel, where we recommend the use of new developments when necessary or recommend solutions that we consider critical to the operation.
